There once was a boy, and I loved him.

Logan Francis Silverstone and I were complete opposites. I danced, and he stood still. He was quiet, while I ran my mouth. He struggled to find a smile, and I refused to frown.

The night I saw the darkness that truly lived inside of him, I couldn't look away.

We were broken together, yet somehow whole. We were wrong together, but always right. We were the stars that burned across the night sky, searching for a wish, praying for better tomorrows.

Until the day I lost him. He threw us away with one hasty decision--a decision that changed us forever.

There once was a boy, and I loved him.

And for a few breaths, a few whispers, a few moments, I think he loved me, too.

My Review

I started with the 2nd book, because it was the first one that came to hand (before realizing it was a series!). But hey, since they are separate stories and without any connection, that doesn't bother anything! 😁

This author has a style that really grabs my attention. Well, I've read the translations, but I like to assume that they reflect the original pen. 🖋🤗

Anyway, I really liked my introduction to this series with Alyssa and Logan. (Summary in photo).

Without revealing details, this romance touched me personally. First, by meeting the characters as teenagers (which has some points in common with my own story, I must admit 🤭), then, by their evolution which is just exquisite. 👌
I won't say more for fear of saying too much. 😋

Of the 4 books in the series, I rank The Fire in 3rd position 🥉

I recommend this novel (intended for an informed audience) to fans of romance ❤🔥

See you soon !
